Trek through one of Tasmania’s National parks

Nestled in the heart of Tasmania, Mount Field National Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With its breathtaking scenery, diverse wildlife, and range of recreational activities, this park is a true gem of Tasmania's wilderness.

The park is home to a number of stunning waterfalls, including the iconic Russell Falls. Surrounded by lush rainforest, Russell Falls plunges 58 meters into a tranquil pool below, creating a magical and serene atmosphere that is sure to take your breath away. A short walk from Russell Falls is Horseshoe Falls, another impressive cascade that is well worth a visit.

But the waterfalls are just the beginning of the park's natural wonders. Mount Field is also famous for its alpine landscape, which is unlike anything else in Tasmania.

The park is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including wallabies, wombats, and Tasmanian devils. Whilst we were exploring the park we came across many beautiful creatures including a very small Wallaby that was hiding within some bushes. As exciting as it is seeing new wildlife please try to remember this is their habitat and we are visitors, so we should always stick to the designated paths.

For those seeking adventure, Mount Field National Park offers a range of recreational activities, from hiking and camping to skiing and snowboarding in the winter months. The park's many trails cater to all levels of fitness and experience, making it a great destination for both seasoned hikers and novice adventurers.

We visited Mount Field early in the morning when it was quite cold so make sure you wear a lot of layers when you visit and sturdy shoes as the ground can be quite damp. There are so many trails you can do and it is a perfect escape from the city life. I loved visiting so much and can’t wait to go back when I am next there.

Whether you're an avid hiker, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Mount Field National Park is a destination that should not be missed. With its stunning scenery, diverse wildlife, and range of recreational activities, the park offers something for everyone. So pack your bags, lace up your hiking boots, and get ready to experience the beauty of Tasmania's wilderness at Mount Field National Park.
